Dominic Amon Nyasulu

Malawi

Dominic Amon Nyasulu is a passionate Climate and Environmental Justice Advocate, Social Entrepreneur, and junior UNFCCC Negotiator from Malawi. He is the Co-Founder and current National Coordinator of the National Youth Network on Climate Change (NYNCC). Dominic has extensive experience working with children and youth on climate and environmental issues, focusing on mobilizing and empowering them to become climate justice ambassadors. He is dedicated to ensuring that young people and their communities actively participate in decision-making processes, particularly in areas such as loss and damage, climate adaptation, and energy just transition.

Dominic believes that children and youth, despite contributing the least to climate change, are among those most affected and must therefore be placed at the center of decision-making. His work reflects his commitment to creating opportunities for the next generation to shape sustainable and equitable solutions to the climate crisis.

With the support of the JWH Initiative Grant, Dominic graduated in 2023 with a Bachelor of Science in Managing Rural and Community Development. The grant enabled him to acquire critical skills in leadership, project management, human resource management, resource mobilization, and evidence-based advocacy. These skills have been instrumental in the growth of NYNCC, allowing the organization to secure funding through bankable proposals and successfully implement impactful projects.

Dominic’s journey from a dedicated volunteer at NYNCC to a recognized leader in climate justice exemplifies his hard work, passion, and integrity. His personal growth and achievements have made him a role model for emerging climate youth leaders, whom he actively mentors in leadership and activism.
