Jerwin Baure

Tell us about yourself: I am Jerwin Baure, a Filipino marine science researcher and environmental activist. I am involved in anti-reclamation campaigns in Manila Bay, and also volunteer in studies on the impacts of development projects (e.g., reclamation) and other conservation issues (e.g., Mindoro oil spill).

‍What did you do with the JWH grant? I used the JWH grant to further improve my skills for environmental advocacy, research and campaigning.

‍What will the leadership development program brring you? I hope that the JWH grant will help me improve my skills so that my expertise as a marine scientist could be further maximized, which could strengthen our organizations campaigns.

‍What is your dream? I dream of a sustainable future where development projects genuinely cater to the needs of the people and planet, and not the interests of the ruling elite.
