Raquel Altamirano Benítez
Bolivia
My name is Raquel Altamirano Benítez, and I come from Rode Lajitas, a rural community in the municipality of Entre Ríos, Tarija, Bolivia. Together with the women’s group I belong to, AMPRO, I work to protect the environment by raising awareness in our community about environmental care. We promote agroecological production, bee conservation, reforestation, and building partnerships to enhance our efforts.
With the JWH Initiative Grant, I am focusing on expanding my knowledge in water resource management. Water is one of the most vital elements for life, yet it is becoming increasingly scarce. This grant is helping me develop the skills and expertise necessary to address this critical issue.
I hope the grant will empower me with new skills and knowledge, enabling me to make a greater contribution to society by promoting sustainable environmental practices and advocating for the responsible management of water resources. My goal is to continue creating positive change for my community and beyond.
